Forgot to say 2nite - huge thanks 2 U, Dave & Danny & the hosts for the Holland trip. My kids had a tremendous time & a special thank you to Dave for helping Oly overcome his fear of washing, you're right he is a stinker!!
Danny
11 June 2008 17:12:23
I had a blast. The kids were great, the hosts were fantastic, the company was spot on and even the weather was good. The only disappointment for me was the level of competition, but hey – you can’t have it all!!

Big thanks to Iman who didn't stop cooking all weekend and everyone else who made us all feel so welcome.
Dave
11 June 2008 10:15:30
Kate thanks for the weekend a great time was had (apart from my fighting). Children you were a pleasure to take away, no trouble what so ever, although Oliver you need to wash more. Danny you have a job for life. Thanks to you all for making it a very very enjoyable weekend.

Kate and Dave,

I would first say you are 2-of the nicest people I have met for a long time. Your skill and dedication to Martial Arts is second to none and many others should follow in your foot steps.

Congratulations to you both in your new grades of 2nd Dan and 3rd Dan and can't think of anyone deserving this more than you both.

Also congratulations to the other members of Mersea Island Judo Club in their achievements on Sunday 18th May.

Everyone from your club is more than welcome to visit us anytime.

Look forward to paying you a visit soon.

Everyone was outstanding with in thier groups, and the display by Dave, Ewan & Kate on Judo/Jitsu was exceptionally good and everyone at the grading really enjoyed it.

Danny Blacklock took Ippons in all his contests, with Ewan & Josh putting in tremendeous performances in thier groups, both contest & Syllabus.

I did not expect the National Coach to give such a strong line-up to both Kate & Dave, who were in excellent form, but on reflection, the Coach was correct, and both Kate & Dave will ache for a few days, but they must feel very proud of their performances, and of the performances of their Students.

Well done all,

Joe Norman - 7th Dan - AEJF President/Founder.
Dave 2nd Dan
19 May 2008 22:15:41
Big congratulations to the famous five at the grading on Sunday. I told you dan no one can take the belt away from you. Josh and Ewan you gave it your all as usual. Kate bit of shock to the system having a line up thrust at you, but you showed why you deserved the 3rd dan. May be other people in Judo should be more open minded. dave 2nd dan
Joe Norman
19 May 2008 16:24:25
I wish to congratulate both Kate & Dave Bredin (Instructors/Coaches), together with students Ewan Wilson, Josh Dow & Danny Blacklock on a magnificant overall Club performance at the All England Judo Federation National Judo Grading, held at Maldon Community Centre on Sunday 18th May 2008.
The Judo/Jitsu display at the start of the grading open the eyes of many Judo students from other Judo Clubs, as I knew it would, having been at your club Championship.
Then the Contesting/Syllabus was outstanding.
You can all feel proud of yourselves, and if the rest of your students can put in half the effort that you all did on that day, then you will be an exceptionally brilliant force in all aspects of Judo.
Keep up the good work.

Joe Norman - 7th Dan - President/Founder - A.E.J.F.

Well done Kate, Dave, Danny, Ewan and Josh. What a fantastic display of Judo at the grading. My sister was outstanding! Just like she always is when she fights, a line up of 4 consisting of 3 men and 1 lady. Dad would have been so proud of you. Gaining her a long awaited and well deserved 3rd Dan. Dave was also excellent with a line up of 10 men, gaining his 2nd Dan. Danny(the gentle giant) won all his fights to gain his blue belt and Ewan finally went to a grading and fought people his own size and weight to gain his brown belt. Josh at his first senior grading was also outstanding winning most fights by an Ippon, so going from junior brown to senior brown. It was a pleasure and a real thrill to be there too watch you all. Well done again.
