15 Jul 2008 - GRADING RESULTS
AREA GRADING
On Sunday 13th July 8 members of the club entered the S.E Area Grading held at Highwood’s Sports Centre, all the children were examined on their syllabus which consists of throws and hold downs and then on their fighting ability, I have to say everyone’s syllabus was great, which means you are listening and learning what is taught to you on Thursday nights, all our entrants passed and some achieved more than one grade which is excellent.
Results; Jake Munson-yellow belt, Amelia Smith-orange belt, Alex Booth-yellow belt, Zac Gosling-red+2white, Jessie Gant-orange belt, Jack Sydenham-white+1yellow, Rosie Daines-white+1yellow, and Thomas Daines gained his yellow belt. The club is now closed for the summer and look forward to seeing you all in September, if you want to keep up to date with the club, take a look at our web site www.merseaislandjudoclub.btik.com and maybe leave a message on our guest book.
Lastly can I thank everyone involved in the club, we are all voluntary no one in the club is paid, we truly are a community run club for the children of this island and surrounding areas, their has been a lot of talk of no clubs or anything for teenagers to do on this Island well here is one which would welcome any teenager, I am a born and bred Mersea Girl and I believe there is more than enough clubs and activities for youngsters to take part in, I also echo the Mayors points of view in saying it is the minority who are causing trouble, we have plenty of polite, respectful young men and women in our judo club.
